Land delivery 2014

Council availed about 4272 erven; 2000 at Ekuku, 2000 at Ehenye and 272 at Okaku Kiipupu.
The Servicing of 400 erven out of 2000 erven at Ekuku has been completed, while the tender for servicing about 1059 erven in the same area has been awarded and commenced.
A total number of two thousand (2000) erven have been surveyed at Ehenye and the tender for bulk servicing have been awarded and commenced.
Okaku Kiipupu has a total of 272 erven have been surveyed and the tender for servicing has been awarded and commenced.
Oshakati Town Council gets ready for the rain season On the 1st August 2012, Oshakati Town Council embarked on cleaning of storm water channels as a proactive method of reducing the burden of water rerouting during the rain season due to several blockages in the system.

Unam - Shali Road phase II on progress As it's integral part of development and fulfillment of Local Authority's Mandate, Oshakati Town Council awarded a tender to China Henan International to start with the second (last) phase of Eliander Mwatale (Unam – Shali) road. This project entails provision of storm water channel; pedestrian walk way and surface road. The work has already commenced in June 2012. Council is expected to spend about N$ 12 Million Namibian dollars to complete the project. Phase I (one) of the same project was done at the beginning of the year 2011 by Nuxes and cost the Council about N$ 3 Million.

Oshakati Town Council Interlocks Sam Nujoma Road

The Oshakati Town Council awarded the tender to Sash Trading CC for construction of interlocked parking, walkway and storm water alongside Sam Nujoma Road. This project is one of many that Council intend to upgrade the town standard with advanced infrastructure and provision of services to the residents of Oshakati. The contract worth about 2.5 million and is projected to be completed before end of the year 2012. Sash Trading cc is a local SME which have necessary experience and expertise to successfully complete this project.

Bank Windhoek Storm water channel and the serviced road starts In its effort to ensure proper infrastructural development and provision of effective service delivery to the residents and business community of Oshakati, the Town Council of Oshakati appointed Nuxes Civils (PTY) Ltd to do the construction of the service road from the Eastern side of the traffic lights at Shali Complex adjacent to the main road towards the traffic lights at the old open market. The service road will be constructed in order to minimize the traffic congestion on the main road.

Oshakati Open Market Progress fairly The financial year 2012/2013 for all local authorities in Namibia has just resumed on the 01st July 2012. The new financial year for Oshakati Town Council kicks off with the continuation of the construction of the New Oshakati Open Market at full force.
